Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out… life happens! I am reminded of the Scripture that says, no less than in three places (Proverbs, 1 Peter and James), God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
I preached just last Sunday on the success of our Senegal mission. Yesterday I was informed of some real issues centered around our mission house that is going to require a change in our mission strategy. I’ll be heading over to Senegal as soon as possible to implement the necessary changes. In the meantime, I am asking you to renew your diligence in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Senegal. They are particularly vulnerable to spiritual warfare.
Two Sundays ago we had two of our Deacons in the hospital at the same time! Please remember to pray for our church leadership.
I am praising God for the success so far of the two morning worship services. New families are joining the church and we are growing in adult attendance as well as in our children’s and youth departments. The Wednesday evening Prayer, Praise and Bible Study, as well as the “FaithWorks” children’s program are also growing. If you haven’t been attending Wednesday night, you are missing a great big blessing!
With that being said, I need to confess that I don’t have all the answers, all the vision, all the insight and all the strength I thought I did. I do not have it all figured out! But I know who does!
Job 12:13
13 "To God belong wisdom and power;
Counsel and understanding are his."
Isaiah 55:8-9
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
Neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD."
9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth
So are my ways higher than your ways
And my thoughts higher than your thoughts."
When we think we’ve got it all figured out and then life happens remember the Lord is on his throne. He resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Lord, thank you for making us humble.
God bless,
Pastor Rob
